MAHARA ANNUAL REVIEW 2012

5 May - 1 July 2012

The Mahara Annual Review exhibition will be a selected exhibition with awards sponsored by local businesses. Artists can submit 1 artwork in any medium, artwork will be selected for its originality and artistic merit by two invited arts specialists. Deadline for finished artwork to be delivered to Mahara Gallery is Saturday 21 – Sunday 29 April, 10am-4pm. Application forms will be available from the Gallery and website from mid December 2011. Mirek Smìšek: 60 Years, 60 Pots 

Born in Czechoslovakia in 1925, Mirek Smíšek (OBE) has forged a career as a remarkable New Zealand artist since arriving here in 1951. Mahara Gallery has produced the first ever full survey exhibition and accompanying publication considering Smíšek’s life’s work. Exhibition curated by Gary Freemantle, toured by Exhibition Services.
